Where Service is "Code 1"

In 1934, Morris Levin and his young son, George, opened a small plumbing shop and scrap metal yard along old Hwy 99 in Tulare, CA. They quickly realized that not only were their services needed in the area, but their hard work and dedication were resulting in loyal customers and a reputation for quality and service. Over the years, George Levin transformed the family business into a diversified enterprise of hardware stores, rental centers, and A/C, heating, electrical, plumbing and underground services.

Today MLS is owned and operated by George’s daughter, Marilyn Atlas, her husband, Paul, and their son, David. The business has hardware stores and rental yards in Tulare and Porterville, and provides more than 150 full-time jobs.

MLS continues to meet the challenge of growing competition by focusing on superior customer service and expanding product lines that meet the needs of both residential and commercial customers. George Levin instilled our “Code 1” Service Philosophy, and today this fourth generation, local family business still thrives because of the dedication of our employees and the personal relationship we have with our customers.
